How to cancel an OnlyFans subscription (and what happens next)

How to stop an OnlyFans subscription from renewing, what you keep until the paid period ends, why there is no automatic refund and how to delete the account. · Updated 2026-10-10

Cancelling on OnlyFans is simple once you know one thing: there is no “cancel” button, there is an auto-renew switch. Turning it off is the cancellation. Here is how it works, step by step, and what to expect afterwards.

Cancel means “stop the next charge”

A paid subscription is a monthly cycle. When you subscribe, the platform turns on auto-renew, so the card is charged again at the end of each cycle. Cancelling is switching that off. The current cycle is already paid and continues until its last day.

The same goes for bundles of three, six or twelve months: switching off auto-renew stops the charge at the end of the bundle, not before.

Step by step

  1. Log in and open the creator’s page.
  2. Under her header there is the subscription box with the toggle “Auto-renew”. Switch it off.
  3. Confirm. The box now shows an expiry date instead of a renewal date.

There is a second route if you follow several creators: open your own menu, choose Subscriptions and you will find every active profile with its toggle. Useful for a monthly clean-up.

OnlyFans works in the browser, on the phone as well; there is no app from the stores, so the steps are the same everywhere.

Check that it worked

The only proof is the wording in the subscription box: “Expires on” means done, “Renews on” means still active. Take a screenshot with the date. If a charge still arrives after that date, you have something to show support.

What you keep until the end

Until the expiry date nothing changes: posts, chat and anything you bought stay available. On the last day the profile locks again and you become an “expired” fan.

  • Posts included in the subscription disappear with the subscription.
  • Content unlocked in chat generally stays in the conversation, because you paid for it individually.
  • The chat itself remains. The creator can still write to you, and you can re-subscribe at any time with one click.

Free profiles

On a free profile there is nothing to cancel in money terms. You can still leave: the same box offers to unsubscribe, and the creator’s posts stop appearing in your feed. If you only want fewer notifications, muting the profile is enough.

Refunds: no automatic one

Cancelling does not refund the current period. It is the same as a streaming service: you paid for the month, you keep the month. Refunds for a specific purchase, for example a locked message that did not open, go through the platform’s support with the details of the transaction.

One warning. Opening a dispute with your bank on a purchase you actually made is treated by the platform as a violation of its terms and can lead to the account being closed. Use support first.

If you were charged after cancelling

It happens for three reasons, in this order. The toggle was switched off on one profile, but a bundle or a second subscription was still active. The switch was flipped after the renewal had already gone through, so the new month was already paid. Or the change was never saved because the page was closed too quickly. Check the subscriptions list first. If it shows “Expires on” with a date earlier than the charge, write to the platform’s support with the date and the amount: that is the one case where a refund is normally granted. Do not go to your bank first.

Deleting the account

If you want out completely:

  1. Switch off auto-renew on every subscription, as above.
  2. Open Settings, then the account section, and choose the delete option.
  3. Confirm with your password.

Deletion is completed once your paid periods have expired, so there is nothing left to charge. After that the username, the chat history and the purchases are gone. If you only want to pause, deleting is more than you need: switching off renewals costs nothing and keeps the account.

Keep spending under control

Three habits avoid most regrets:

  • Switch off auto-renew right after subscribing. You still get the full month, and the decision to continue is yours every time.
  • Prefer a dedicated prepaid card loaded with your monthly budget. How to set it up: OnlyFans without a credit card.
  • Check the price before subscribing. Prices change, and bundles are only worth it if you really follow the creator. The numbers are in how much OnlyFans costs.

If you cancelled because the profile was not what you expected, the free profiles are a good way to try others without paying anything.

FAQ

Do I get a refund if I cancel?

No. Cancelling means switching off the next renewal. The month you already paid is not refunded, but you keep access until it ends. Refunds are handled case by case by the platform’s support, not automatically.

Do I lose access immediately?

No. After switching off auto-renew you stay subscribed until the end of the paid period. Only then does the profile become locked again. Content you unlocked in chat usually stays visible in the conversation.

Does the creator know I cancelled?

She sees that your subscription is set to expire and, later, that it has expired. There is no notification with a reason, and she can still send you messages afterwards.

How do I delete my OnlyFans account?

From the settings, in the account section, there is a delete option. Switch off auto-renew on every subscription first: deletion is completed after your paid periods have run out.
