How to pay for OnlyFans in Italy: accepted cards and what does not work

Which cards OnlyFans accepts in Italy (Visa, Mastercard, prepaid), what it refuses (PayPal, transfers, crypto), why a card gets declined and how renewals work. · Updated 2026-10-10

OnlyFans has one payment method: a card. Everything else you may have read about is either not supported or a scam. Here is what works in Italy, what does not, and what to do when a payment fails.

What is accepted

OnlyFans takes Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Discover cards. Within those networks it accepts:

  • Credit cards, the most reliable option.
  • Debit cards linked to a current account.
  • Prepaid cards, as long as they run on Visa or Mastercard and are enabled for online purchases. Italian prepaid cards from banks and post offices usually work; some virtual or single-use cards are refused.

A card is required to subscribe to any profile, including free ones. On a free profile nothing is charged until you buy something: the card is only registered. More on this in free OnlyFans.

What is not accepted

  • PayPal. It has never been available on OnlyFans. Any site or person offering to “pay OnlyFans via PayPal for you” is a scam.
  • Bank transfer, Satispay, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
  • Phone credit and mobile billing.
  • Cryptocurrency.
  • Gift cards or vouchers. There is no official OnlyFans gift card.

If someone in a chat asks you to pay through any of these, you are not dealing with the platform. Payments to a creator happen only inside her profile.

Dollars, not euro

All prices are in US dollars. Your bank converts the amount at the exchange rate of the day and may add a foreign-currency fee, typically one or two percent. A $10 subscription therefore shows on your statement as a slightly different euro amount each month. If you want to know the real cost before subscribing, read how much OnlyFans costs.

Before you try: three switches in your bank app

Most declined payments in Italy come from the card, not from the platform. Open your bank app and check:

  1. Online payments are enabled for the card.
  2. Foreign or non-euro transactions are enabled. Many Italian cards have them switched off by default.
  3. Merchant category blocks. Some apps let you block whole categories of merchants. If one of those blocks is active, the payment fails silently.

The bank may also ask you to confirm the first payment with the app or a text message. That is normal and happens once per card.

If the card is declined

Do not retry the same card five times in a row: the bank can read it as fraud and freeze the card. Instead:

  • Check the three switches above.
  • Make sure the balance covers the amount plus a small authorisation hold.
  • Try a different card. Virtual cards and some fintech cards are refused more often than physical ones.
  • If nothing works, a plain prepaid card from a bank or post office is the safest fallback. Options are listed in OnlyFans without a credit card.

Paying from the phone

OnlyFans has no app in the stores. On the phone you use the browser, and the payment form is the same as on a computer: card number, expiry date, security code, then the bank’s confirmation. You can register more than one card and pick which one to use at checkout; the default is the last one you added. If you added a card only to look at a free profile, nothing is charged to it until you buy something.

Renewals: the thing people forget

When you subscribe to a paid profile, auto-renew is on by default. On the same day next month the card is charged again, and the month after. Bundles of three, six or twelve months renew at the end of the bundle.

To stop it, open the creator’s page and switch off auto-renew. You keep access until the paid period ends and nothing more is charged. Step by step: how to cancel a subscription.

What shows on the statement

What the charge shows depends on your bank: often an abbreviation or the company behind the platform, not always the word “OnlyFans”. The amount is still visible to anyone who reads the statement. People who want the spending kept apart use a dedicated prepaid card loaded only with their monthly budget, which doubles as a spending cap.

A quick checklist

  • Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or Discover. Prepaid is fine if enabled for online and foreign payments.
  • No PayPal, transfer, crypto, phone credit or gift cards.
  • Prices in dollars, converted by your bank.
  • Auto-renew is on unless you switch it off.
  • Pay only inside the platform, never through links sent in chat.

With that in place, subscribing takes a minute. To pick where to start, browse the ranking or the free profiles.

FAQ

Does OnlyFans accept PayPal?

No. OnlyFans accepts cards only: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Discover, including prepaid cards. PayPal, bank transfer, Satispay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, phone credit and cryptocurrency are not accepted.

Can I pay with an Italian prepaid card?

Usually yes, if it runs on the Visa or Mastercard network and is enabled for online purchases and for transactions in foreign currency. If it is declined, try another card rather than retrying the same one.

Why was my card declined?

The common reasons are: online payments or foreign-currency payments switched off in the bank app, a block on certain merchant categories, a virtual card the platform does not accept, or not enough balance for the authorisation check.

Does the subscription renew by itself?

Yes. Paid subscriptions renew every month on the same card until you switch off auto-renew on the creator’s page. Switching it off keeps your access until the end of the paid period.
